Fountains

When we were touring downtown Baton Rouge, we stumbled along this park:

It had fountains--similar to Crown Center in Kansas City.  Josh is showing his roots by running in the fountains.

Doug had another idea.

 

He had to repeat his display of skill so Trent could see.

 

Trent gives it a try.

 

Then, Mom made EVERYONE stop playing in the water.  Doug and Kara were sad.

 

Hawaii Temple

We went to the LDS Temple in Laie, HI.  The grounds are so lovely.

The temple is such a wonderful place. 

Hawaiian Trees

I love the Banyan trees in Hawaii!  They just look so cool!

 I really loved watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.

There were pine trees...they look a little different than the ones in Alaska!

Pearl Harbor

While in Hawaii, my sister and I went to Pearl Harbor.  I firmly believe that any visit to Hawaii should include a visit to Pearl Harbor.
 

 

 

 

They recently finished MAJOR renovations.  It is REALLY nice.  They have a great museum (and a couple different gift shops).  I also really enjoyed the landscaping.  I saw this tree and thought it was totally amazing!  (Fast forward a few months and I now have a magnolia tree in my yard!)

Around the complex, they had quotes from various people.  I loved these quotes--they have a timeless quality about them.
